Since its founding the Cologne Guitar Quartet has developed in several musical directions that reflect its artistic interests.

In its Fusion project the quartet implements different musical styles with influences of each of the members cultural traditions backgrounds with combination of electronic instruments, creating a unique crossover concert program. Included are original compositions and arrangements for various instruments combinations with classical guitar, cavaquinho, Portuguese guitar, electric guitar, e-bass, acoustic guitar, Greek Bouzouki and voice.

Fusion project was launched during SoundLinks festival in 2022 and saw the premiere of Exile by Henrique Almeida, two new arrangements by Ptolemaios Armaos to songs by Thanasis Papakonstantinou and original version made by Tal Botvinik for Steve Reich’s Electric Counterpoint for four soloists and video installation.
